- Trạng từ chỉ nơi chốn (adverb of place)
Trạng từ chỉ nơi chốn cho chúng ta biết điều gì đó xảy ra ở đâu. Thường có vị trí sau động từ chính hoặc sau mệnh đề.

E.g. Come over here and look at what I found!
phó từ kết thúc với -wards, where
E.g. I would like to go somewhere warm for my vacation.
E.g. Is there anywhere I can find a perfect plate of spaghetti around here?
E.g. Cats don’t usually walk backwards.
trạng ngữ là kết hợp giữa động từ + giới từ hay giới từ + danh từ
around The marble rolled around in my hand. I am wearing a necklace around my neck.
behind Hurry! You are getting behind. Let’s hide behind the shed.
down Mary fell down. John made his way carefully down the cliff.
on We rode on for several more hours. Please put the books on the table.
in We decided to drop in on Jake. I dropped the letter in the mailbox.
off Let’s get off at the next stop. The wind blew the flowers off the tree.
over He turned over and went back to sleep. I think I will hang the picture over my bed.
- Trạng từ chỉ mức độ (adverb of degree)
Các trạng từ này cho chúng ta biết về cường độ của một điều gì đó, thường là tính chất, cảm xúc. Thường được đặt trước tính từ, trạng từ khác hoặc động từ.

extremely adjective The water was extremely cold.
quite adjective The movie is quite interesting.
just verb He was just leaving.
almost verb She has almost finished.
very adverb She is running very fast.
too adverb You are walking too slowly.
enough adverb You are running fast enough.
